Schedule SMS campaigns with a clear review process
Prepare a campaign ahead of time and select a later dispatch date. Scheduling helps organise reminders, but recipients, message content, credits and delivery outcomes still need review.
Before choosing the time
Choose the audience, compose the message and review personalisation and the opt-out footer. Calculate the final requirement after all changes. Longer text or Unicode may increase the segments per recipient.
Check the date and time shown in the review. If your device is set to a different timezone, confirm the intended South African dispatch time rather than assuming the device clock matches it.
Dispatch is not handset delivery
The scheduled time indicates when the system should begin dispatching an eligible campaign. Provider acceptance, network routing and handset availability occur after that. An exact arrival-time guarantee would be misleading.
The portal provides manual scheduling, not automatic recommendations for an optimal marketing hour. Choose a time appropriate to recipient expectations and leave margin for time-sensitive reminders.
After the scheduled time
Check whether dispatch has started and whether individual messages were submitted. Then review the delivery states. Completed dispatch can still include messages waiting for final delivery confirmation.
If a campaign has not progressed, record its reference, selected time and displayed status for support. Avoid creating another copy until you know whether the original was submitted. This helps prevent duplicate messages and charges.
